Peer Review Process

Jurnal Ekonomi dan Bisnis Widyaswara Indonesia (JEBWI) employs a two-stage review process.

The first stage is an initial editorial review (also known as a "desktop review" or "screening review") conducted by a section editor or the editor-in-chief. This stage results in a decision either to proceed to peer review (stage 2) or to issue an editorial rejection.

If a manuscript advances to stage 2, a section editor is assigned to oversee the review process. Two members of the JEBWI review panel comprising section editors, experienced researchers, and practitioners are then tasked with evaluating the manuscript. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, experience, and research interests, ensuring alignment with the focus of the article.

JEBWI utilizes a single-blind review process, in which reviewers are aware of the authors' identities, but authors remain unaware of the reviewers' identities. Direct communication between reviewers and authors is not permitted.

Manuscripts are evaluated based on the following criteria:

  1. Contribution to the advancement of knowledge in economics and business.
  2. Quality of critical engagement with relevant literature (literature review and discussion).
  3. Clarity of research and/or development objectives.
  4. Clarity and justification of the chosen methodology.
  5. Quality of empirical data, analysis, presentation, and interpretation of results.
  6. Inclusion of relevant practical and/or policy implications.
  7. Quality of writing (including structure, writing style, and clarity of expression).

The editor will notify you of the review outcome as soon as possible—typically within 30 to 60 days.

Before sending a manuscript to reviewers, the editor will conduct a plagiarism check using Turnitin. We do not process content containing plagiarism; any manuscript found to have a plagiarism score exceeding 30% will be rejected. Journal submissions must be managed using reference management software such as Mendeley or EndNote. The language used in this journal is Indonesian.

Accepted articles will be made available online (free to download) following the journal's peer-review process. The final decision regarding the acceptance of an article rests with the Editor, based on the reviewers' comments. Articles returned to authors for revision must be sent back to the Editor without delay. Revised articles submitted more than 20 days after the request will be treated as new submissions. Revised articles may be submitted to the editorial team via the Online Submission Interface on our journal's website.

All articles published under the Open Access model will be immediately and permanently free for anyone to read and download.
